Origins of THE THEM. :
The original film...
The Origins of THE THEM were in a series of 8mm movies shot during 1986 and '87 and a bit more in '88.
The film was made in an episodic style, which wasn't repeated until the comic came out.
The final episode was never completed in the 8mm version, as 8mm film was becoming expensive and rare.

THE THEM as movie. :
Once upon a time THE THEM really did appear on the big screen...
In december 1988, THE THEM was remade for a serious public release in 16mm format.
THE THEM which runs nearly 18 minutes was released publicly in short film screenings.
The film has remained publicly unscreened since 1992. .
A condensed mpeg version was released on the internet from early 2002 until mid 2003.

Even THE THEM has a tacky rip off sequel...

Shooting began around 1993 for a continuation of THE THEM...
Featuring a lot more special effects and animation than the previous THE THEM...
There were a lot more Dragons, Potato monsters and a cast performed entirely by Martin Peace...
Eventually I got it finished up and in the can during February 1995...
It had the customary cast and crew screening...And that's as far as it got...
To date it has never managed a public screening...
Thus it remains in obscurity, with it's story told by the comic book, THE THEM volume two.
